At the left is the "Town Cafe." The house belonged to Stipan Crnica in 1725, who was the governor of Imotski County.
For many years the place was a center of town life where a game of billiard, chess, and cards were played.
It had many memorable owners, starting with Manda, Boško, and ending with flamboyant Kris. The place is empty there days.
At the right is the Ligutić house, which belongs to Brečić family these days.
Merchant Stipe Ligutić came to Imotski from Split where he married Marija Gotovac. They had four boys and six girls after extending the old house which was a Turkish tower on the south side.
Old farmacy was housed in his building and financed by Ligutić
s on takeover from Paškval Ferrari when the old owner decided to retire.
Forty years ago the place housed a well known pasty shop owned by Lela Pavić.
As a kid your webmaster would get "krempita" pastry here while his granddad was enjoying a drink in "Town Cafe."
Toni Tadić, an Imotski barber legend used to live there.
Početak Pjace
Odmah lijevo je "Gradska Kavana". Kuća je pripadala Stipanu Crnici 1725, tadašnjem serdaru Imotske krajine.
Kavana je bila dugo godina centar gradskoga života gdje se igrao biljar, šah i karte.
Vlasnici su postali jako upoznati u gradskim okvirima, počevši od Mande, preko Boška, pa do Krisa.
Lokal je trenutno (2005) više godina prazan.
Na desno je Ligutić kuća, koja trenutno pripada Brečić familiji.
Trgovac Stipe Ligutić je došao u Imotski iz Splita, gdje je oženio Mariju Gotovac. Imali su četiri sina i
šest kćeriju, nakon što su proširili staru kuću koja je bila turska kula na južnoj strani.
Stara ljekarna sa početka 20-oga stoljeća je bila u Ligutića kući koju je u to doba preuzeo
Paškval Ferrari.
Šezdesetih godina prošlog stoljeća je Lela Pavić imala slastičarnicu u toj kući, odmah preko puta Gradske Kavane.
Još i danas se sijećam njezinih krempita i bobića, kada bih sa djedom otišao u kavanu.
Toni Tadić, imotska brijačka legenda, je živio u toj kući.
