The Fransciscan's arrived in Imotski's region in the 14th century. They arrived in the town of Imotski  in 1717, after liberation of the town from Turks. They established the first covenant in 1738, during reign of Venetian providur Daniel Dolfin, so his coat of arm was built in the wall of the new covenant ( dolfin = dolphin).
